Meet the Founder - Natural Skincare Advocate

Hi! My name is Joliane - but everyone who knows me calls me Joey. I am an Acadian native to New-Brunswick currently living with my family in Alberta, Canada. I am a proud wife, mother to our beautiful baby girl, and doggy mama to our two dober-fur-babies, Kansas & Delta.

I am a dental hygienist by trade and enjoyed a fruitful 13-year career until I retired due to injury. Throughout my life, I’ve embraced an active & healthy lifestyle, sustainable living, and low-waste efforts to support the health of our fragile planet. A worsening autoimmune diagnosis, which can replicate serious allergic reactions when exposed to synthetic perfumes, detergents, and colorants, eventually encouraged me to develop an interest in creating natural wellness products for myself and my family.

Over time, I turned my hobby into a small business endeavor called Pure Soap Co. As I expanded into high-performance skin and hair care products, I rebranded under Pure Botanica, a name that reflects our commitment to organic skincare.

My business philosophy is built on several core pillars, including sustainability, supporting local hobby farms, and maintaining a low carbon footprint by growing our own botanicals in our organic gardens. I prioritize mindful packaging options and source clean ingredients inspired by nature to create sustainable skincare solutions, while also crafting aesthetically pleasing luxe collections.

Pure Botanica is proudly backed by a Leaping Bunny®️ & PETA®️ certification, meaning our collections and the materials used to make them have never - nor will ever - be tested on our animal friends.

Additionally, Pure Botanica is certified CERTclean®️, ensuring that our products are "clean" and formulated without ingredients known to compromise health, such as carcinogens and endocrine disruptors.

Always yearning for knowledge in the latest cosmetic advancements and striving for excellence in my formula developments, I obtained both my Diploma in Natural Skincare Formulations and Advanced Certificate in High Performance Serums from the accredited School of Natural Skincare. This pursuit is not only beneficial for personal growth but also ensures that Pure Botanica can continue to deliver safe, modern, and science-forward lifestyle goods.
